Das IDM Institut für denn Donauraum & Mitteleuropa ladet zu einem auch für den Tourismus der Donauländer spannenden Symposium: "Learning from the Past – Engaging for the Future - Intercultural Dialogue through the Danube Waves to the Black Sea Region"
According to the UNESCO definition, cultural heritage includes – apart from monuments and collections of objects – also traditions and living expressions such as performing arts, social practices or festive events, inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants. In that sense, intangible cultural heritage embodies cultural diversity within a geographical region that can, if understood as such, foster intercultural dialogue.

As part of the EU project “Diversity in Unity: Intercultural Dialogue Through the Waves of Danube”, this conference aims to first reconstruct the dialogue among the material and intangible cultural heritage and thus foster intercultural understanding among EU-member and Non-EU-member states, including Turkey. Secondly, it aims to elaborate new inclusive European perspectives against the background of current contradictory EU integration and
disintegration processes.
